Monday | September 28
Shvil Hamaayanot is a hiking trail that winds through the Judean Hills, passing through rocky landscapes and shaded pine forests. Highlights include panoramic mountain views and many freshwater springs (mayaanot) along the path. We will walk along the trail, taking breaks to swim in the mayaanot.

Please Note: This is an afternoon trip, giving you time to go to Hallel & Bircat Kohanim at the Kotel in the morning or to Simchat Be’it Hashoevas at night.

Tuesday | September 29
Beit Guvrin is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with scenic landscapes dotted with ancient manmade caves and historic ruins. Highlights include a Roman amphitheatre, a Crusader fortress, scenic views from Tel Maresha, and a large cave network. We will walk from one end of the park to the other, stopping at each highlighted location and admiring the scenery along the way.

Wednesday | September 30
Nachal Sorek is a section of untamed wilderness in the Judean Hills. This moderately strenuous hike rewards you with unmatched 360° views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. We will spend the day hiking through dense forests, dry river valleys, and rocky ravines, taking breaks at the many scenic lookouts along the way.

Thursday | October 1
Makhtesh Gadol is a rare geological formation located in the Negev Desert. Formed by water erosion, the “Big Crater” features a ring of jagged cliffs that enclose a valley filled with multicolored dunes. We will hike along the rim for sweeping views of the valley below, then we’ll enter the crater to admire the colorful dunes up close.

Monday | October 5
Har Sodom is a mountainous ridge made almost entirely of rock salt that overlooks the Dead Sea. This unique landscape offers steep trails and panoramic views of the desert and the Dead Sea’s mineral pools below. We will take time to hike the trails, then we’ll head to the men’s beach at Hamei Zohar for the unique experience of floating in the Dead Sea.

Tuesday | October 6
Nachal Prat is a freshwater stream running along the bottom of a deep gorge in the Judean Desert. Pools, waterfalls, and shady plant life offer an oasis in the hot desert. We will take in panoramic views from the canyon edge, hike down to the stream, and spend time in the natural pools before hiking back out of the gorge farther down the river.

Wednesday | October 7
This day marks 3 years since the tragic events of October 7th 2023. We will honor the victims by visiting locations in the Gaza envelope that were directly affected by the terrorist attacks and listening to firsthand accounts of the attack.

Thursday | October 8
Har Arbel is a towering cliff rising above the Kinneret, offering breathtaking views of the Galil, Golan, and Israel’s largest freshwater lake. We will hike the trails of Har Arbel and later go to a men’s beach to swim in the Kinneret. Afterward, we will stop in Tveria for an optional dinner at a local restaurant before heading back to Jerusalem. Please Note: Dinner is not included in the cost of the trip.
